“Recycling rare earths from magnets is not just a technological achievement; it’s a necessity for the sustainability of our planet.” — Ahmad Ghahreman
Toronto, Ontario – August 12, 2024 – The Critical Minerals Institute (CMI) is excited to announce that Ahmad Ghahreman, President, CEO, and Co-Founder of Cyclic Materials Inc., will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming CMI Summit III. This highly anticipated two-day event, themed “The Politics of the Critical Minerals Market,” is set to take place on August 21-22, 2024, at the National Club in Toronto.
Keynote Speaker: Ahmad Ghahreman, President & CEO, Cyclic Materials Inc.
Speech Title:” Revolutionizing Rare Earth Recycling from Magnets: A Circular Economy Approach”
Ahmad Ghahreman will kick off Day 2 of the summit with a groundbreaking address from 9:10 to 9:30 AM, where he will delve into the transformative potential of rare earth recycling technologies. As a leading innovator in the critical minerals sector, Ghahreman will share insights on how Cyclic Materials is pioneering the circular economy through its cutting-edge processes that recover rare earth magnets from end-of-life products like hard disk drives and electric vehicle motors.
“With cloud computing, AI, and the increasing demand for data centers, the need for rare earth elements is at an all-time high. Our partnership with Microsoft and their Climate Innovation Fund is just one example of how Cyclic Materials is at the forefront of sustainable solutions, recovering magnets from hard disk drives on a larger scale than ever before,” said Ghahreman in a recent interview with InvestorNews. “Our goal is to establish a circular supply chain that not only meets the growing demands of technology companies but also reduces environmental impact.”
Ghahreman’s keynote will highlight Cyclic Materials’ innovative technologies, including their proprietary REEPure™ and Mag-Cycle™ processes, which are setting new standards in the industry. The Kingston-based Hub100 plant, using the REEPureTM technology, represents the first commercial demonstration facility in North America capable of producing high-quality mixed rare earth oxides (MREO) from recycled materials. This initiative is critical to reducing reliance on traditional mining processes and supporting the transition to green energy, particularly in the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) market.
“Recycling rare earths from magnets is not just a technological achievement; it’s a necessity for the sustainability of our planet. By closing the loop on these vital materials, we’re ensuring that the growing demand for critical minerals does not come at the expense of our environment,” Ghahreman added.
