Nova Copper’s Harry Cabrita to Spotlight Atlantic Canada’s Gold-Rich Copper Porphyry Potential at CMI Summit IV

Critical Minerals & Rare Earths

TORONTO, ONTARIO – May 9, 2025 – The Critical Minerals Institute (CMI) is pleased to announce that Harry Cabrita, Founder, President & CEO of Nova Copper Inc., will anchor two high-profile sessions at CMI Summit IV, taking place May 13–14 at the National Club in Toronto.

Cabrita will take the stage twice at CMI Summit IV. On Tuesday, May 13 (3:10–3:55 PM ET) he joins the panel “The Surge in Demand for Military Metals,” where he will discuss rising defence demand with critical-minerals authority Jack LiftonSean Flynn, and Murray Nye, under the moderation of Mel Sanderson. He returns on Wednesday, May 14 (11:25–11:40 AM ET) for a solo presentation, “A Privately Owned, Large Canadian Intact Gold-Rich Copper Porphyry System,” outlining how Nova Copper’s Coxheath–Sydney district could narrow North America’s supply gap in defence and energy-driven critical metals.

A veteran resource executive with more than 20 years of international base-metal experience, Cabrita previously led Silvore Fox Minerals Corp. (TSXV: SFX) from 2008 to 2013 before consolidating Nova Scotia’s historic copper camp into Nova Copper in 2018. Under his stewardship, the company now controls 100% of a 26 km² porphyry-epithermal system near Sydney, Nova Scotia, and has leveraged provincial Mineral Resources Development Fund grants to advance modern geophysics, re-log historic core, and prepare for a maiden resource estimate.

“Nova Copper’s Coxheath–Sydney system gives Canada a rare opportunity: a large-tonnage, gold-enriched copper porphyry within 20 kilometres of deep-water shipping. By pairing filtered-tailings technology with local processing, we can become a secure Atlantic hub for the EV and defence sectors—without shipping ore halfway around the world,” said Harry Cabrita.

Tracy Hughes, Founder and Executive Director of CMI, remarked:

“Harry proves that disciplined, founder-driven entrepreneurship can turn dormant ground into a national asset. He validates the geology, earns community trust, and then scales with purpose. Delegates will see how a modern porphyry discovery can accelerate decarbonization, reinforce national security, and ignite regional prosperity.”
