This event will provide an in-depth exploration of advancements and strategic investments critical to strengthening national security through essential minerals and the technology that drives the sector.

The event, running from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM MST, will feature a full day of discussions, networking, and insights on how critical minerals are reshaping the landscape of national security. Participants will gain a front-row view of the latest innovations and have the opportunity to connect with leaders who are pioneering the future of critical minerals technology.

The event will commence with a welcome address by 47G, setting the stage for a series of enlightening presentations and panels. Melissa Barbanell, Director of U.S. International Engagement at the World Resources Institute (WRI), will lead the first session, providing an overview of the global growth in critical minerals demand. As part of a respected research organization, Barbanell’s talk will highlight the importance of critical minerals in addressing global resource challenges and how the sector intersects with sustainable development.

Following Barbanell’s presentation, the Office of Strategic Capital will discuss the national imperative surrounding critical minerals, underscoring the necessity of a robust domestic supply chain to meet both commercial and defense-related needs. The morning sessions will continue with Andrew Rupke, Senior Geologist at the Utah Geological Survey, who will outline Why Utah? — delving into why Utah has become a key player in the critical minerals industry and what unique advantages it offers for industry growth.

The Armchair Interview will be hosted by Peter Clausi, Director of the Critical Minerals Institute (CMI). In conversation with Jack Lifton, Co-Chair of CMI and a globally recognized authority on critical minerals, Clausi will lead a discussion on today’s market challenges, the unique demands of consumer and military markets, and the urgent need for government policies that enable a vertically integrated supply chain. Lifton’s insights will draw from his recent commentary on the critical minerals sector, with a focus on Ensuring Secure Supply Chains for National Security.

After a networking lunch, the afternoon will feature presentations by leading executives from various companies within the critical minerals industry.
